Under Construction – Oakview

Below are several images of a current renovation project.  The larger gable is the original farmhouse, and the porch and gable to the right have been added.

Construction is being completed by Demos Builders.  They do wonderful work and we are excited to see the project under way.  The yellow is the new fiber cement siding and will eventually get painted white.

The front of the house faces south and will feature a full photovoltaic array.

The side porch will be screened and feature an outdoor shower.

The hot tub deck off the back of the house faces the back field where the owner plans to have a small farm.

We are working with Standing Stone Builders | www.standingstonebuilders.com
on a new home in Fairview.  The house is designed and engineered for the high wind zone and will have a contemporary feel with its low slope mono-pitch roofs.

The lot slopes steeply to the east affording fantastic views from all 3 levels.

The living room and dining room windows look out to the mountains in the distance.

10×10 black locust posts support the decks and balconies above.

Tyvek house wrap and spray foam insulation seal the envelope.

Construction is nearing completion on The Junction, a new restaurant and bar on depot street in Asheville’s river arts district.  Check back soon for completed images. And be sure to check out www.thejunctionasheville.com for updates and opening information!

Regina Trantham of Trantham Construction is the contractor on the job and she has done a wonderful job of building and navigating the many intricacies of this project.  (Above) The back of bar finish (under construction in this image) is salvaged from a pile of discarded wood pallets.

Exposed brick in the dining room.  The garage door opens to an outdoor patio area.
New windows in existing exterior wall (far end of the image above) with existing windows to the bar area (left).

Perdue Studios has created many metal elements for the project including the exterior sign, bar foot rail, and bathroom grab bars (shown here).  Check out the Perdue Studio website at www.perduestudios.com

The restaurant is part of the Pink Dog Creative’s transformation of these former warehouse buildings on Depot Street.  Check out Pink Dog at www.pinkdog-creative.com

Louisa’s Porch

We recently got an announcement from Louisa’s Porch. This is a home stay/bed and breakfast in Montford that we helped renovate with Studio Dionisi. Because the house is in the Montford historic district we had to maintain the existing exterior. To accommodate an addition for the owner’s quarters we ended up excavating underneath the house and finishing the basement. We hear it’s a sweet stay.  Check out their website at: www.louisasporch.com
